Your Food Choice Matters!

What we eat, how we feel!

Your takeaway at the end of this lesson: enough vocabulary, increased confidence, and  managed ideas so you can speak confidently about eating habits.

We all have been there when the pressure is on, the clock is ticking and we’re running out of time, the meeting has gone horribly wrong, or the work stress seems to be never-ending. We feel stressed out and frustrated, and then we reach for high-calorie foods!

The question is why we choose what we eat when we’re under pressure; is it just a craving, or is there more to foods than meets the eye? Nutritionists say that there’s no strong link between mental health and diet but it plays a key role.

Multiple nutrient deficiency can cause depression symptoms, while a plant-based diet seems to boost your mood long-term.  Some research tells us that those eating more fruits and vegetables have higher levels of happiness, life satisfaction, and well-being.

A diet full of highly processed foods bonds with increased risk of depression. Conversely, reduced risk of  mental illnesses comes with a “whole foods” style diet. You might not feel bad with your current diet, but maybe removing unhealthy food items can add more to your health and happiness. What do you think?
