Human-Animal Bond; Ownership or Friendship?

Your takeaway at the end of this lesson: enough vocabulary, increased confidence, and  managed ideas to speak confidently about pet culture in English.

While animals aren’t perceived the same in different cultures, keeping domestic pets appears to be overwhelmingly common around the world. Some pets  are more beloved than others, described as man’s best friend and others are dirty beasts!

We generally avoid eating the animals that we might also keep in our homes as pets. We love and take care of these animals as if they were own own children. We feed and shelter them when they are small. There is even closer parent-child relationship between human and animal in some cultures; they  first chews the food before giving it to the animal to eat.

Some more religious people believe dogs are unclean, and hunting dogs and sheep dogs are the only ones that are beneficial. While a a pet-loving culture and has the passionate love for dogs. In Japan for example they pet them like little girls with their dolls.

Why people have different attitudes toward animals and what happens in human-animal interaction is an interesting topic to explore.

Let’s dive in and learn more about it.
